Two 200km (more or less!) FAI triangles were flown on AirDesign wings from Speikboden in Italy.
Stefan Aufischer on the LTF/EN B RISE flew a 199.17km FAI Triangle with Robert Haider on his new LTF/EN C VOLT catching a few more kilometers for a 207.7km FAI Triangle.
Stefan commented that he "felt comfortable during the whole 8 1/2 hours, the RISE performed well and kept up with the 2-liners most of the time, although I had to catch up after the big transitions!"
The triangle took the pair north west to the Italian/Austrian border and then south east towards the Dolomites before heading back again nearly into Austria and finally to Speikboden to close the triangle.
During the flights of close to 9 hours both pilots reached altitudes over 4000m with spectacular views of the main chain of the Alps and the Dolomites.
