Love is in the air… with Marlies and Andi!

Combining alpinism and paragliding is what Marlies and Andi love to do for ten years now –just as long they love each other. After climbing the famous Frêney pillar on Mont-Blanc, Andi proposed to Marlies right on top of the highest mountain in the Alps. A few years earlier they managed to take-off right here with their SuSis. Living full-time in their campervan for more than five years, this is just the perfect wing for them. Saving space on 8 m2 is essential for a well-functioning partnership (only the RONIN managed to sneak into their van recently).

Surely their marriage should take place in the place they call home. This is Upper Austria where they learned to climb and to fly. For their wedding they choose the summit of their most beloved mountain: Spitzmauer. This mountain rises like a pyramid of limestone 2446 meter high above their home valley. Instead of having a summer day, it was snowing and raining all day long on 1st June! Flying down to the party with friends and family was no option. Nevertheless, this was simply unforgettable!

When the as talented as motivated photographer Marlene Brandl invited the couple for an after-wedding-shooting, both were sure: “Now we wanna take our glider with us!” As Marlene also started with paragliding last year, she loves to combine her profession with her passion. “What I love about wedding photography is that people can incorporate their hobby into this moment that they share together.” She very often gets up in the middle of the night to get the perfect light high up in the mountains. And – impressive for a motivated flying woman: for the best image composition she even stays grounded. She is a hunter for the very special moments – moments like Marlies and Andi had during their early morning flight. The gusty wind was quite sporty for groundhandling, even with their RONIN 12 and 14 (and Marlies in high heels). For flying down they grabbed their SuSi – and the 25km/h wind let them soar in their wedding outfit for quite a while. Love is in the air!
